Mustang Sally

So much time these days is spent customising.  There are some unique cars getting around these days with some awesome modifications and customisations that are both good and bad, but nobody puts much emphasis on leaving things standard anymore.  There are not alot of Mustangs getting around anymore, and even less that are in the condition they were when they left Ford, and it is even rarer to find one owned by a 20 year old girl.  Enter Renee Edwards and her 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback.  This car is truly a classic and truly a rare car driven by a rare girl.

Renee bought the car in virgin condition.  It still has the standard wheels, standard 200 cubic inch engine, gearbox and diff. The interior is standard except for the custom steering wheel, and all suspension and brake components are just the way Ford intended when it rolled out of the plant at San Jose California back in 69.  The only part of the car that isnt factory is the matte black paint, which was put on to cover up where the clear was coming off of the original paintwork.

Renee went through a fair bit to find this car.  She rejected quite a few and although she wanted a V8, she found something she really liked as a platform to build her dream car.  She didnt deviate from the model she wanted. It had to be a 1969 fastback.  You have to admire anyone who is willing to get out there and go after something they really want, and being only 20, which is half of the age of the car, she showed patience and intelligence beyond her years to stick to her guns and get what she really wanted.

Whether you like you cars custom or standard.  Whether you like imports, Euro, Aussie muscle, US muscle or hot rods, everyone has to appreciate and respect a car that is 40 years old, and still as soughtafter as the day it rolled off the factory floor, and you have to admire a young girl, half the age of the car who respects it and wants to bring it back to its former glory.  Nice work Sally.........
