Brisbane Commodore Car Club Dyno Day

The Brisbane Commodore Car Club Dyno Day was held at All Dyno Tuning at Clontarf on the 16th February.  I have to say, it didn't look like it was going to be much of an event early on.  The weather played havoc with the day pretty much all day.  Not heavy rain, just enough to annoy you and keep most of us running under the small tent that was set up.   But that didn't stop the boys bringin out the toys for a good day of spinning rollers.  And what a competition.  The top horsepower of the day came down the under 10 horsepower separating the top 3 cars.

There were no shortage of cars showing up to show off for such a miserable day weather wise.  There were several cars that made over 300 horsepower, and a very impressive supercharged V6 that gave 300 a good nudge.  The winner of the day was Chris Brown in this nice yellow CV8 V2 Monaro.  Chris managed to spin the rollers up to 364 horsepower to take out the day.  Keep an eye out on Street Cruising because one of the prizes Chris has won for the highest horsepower is a feature, right here on Street Cruising.  So keep your eyes out in the next couple of months for this car.
The top 5 was a tight affair, with all the boys making over 300 rwhp.  The cars are in order and and follows
Nick Trovato in his VZ CV8Z Monaro making 359, missing out by only 5 horsies on taking it out.
Third place and coming it at 355 in his total sleeper of a VE Calais was Peter Chatman.
Fourth place was taken out by Mick (insert last name here), known as VSV8UTE, who managed 341 in his...yes you guessed it.....VSV8UTE
James Cook, in his beautifully turned out VY showed that it isn't all show, pumping out a very impressive 326hp.
Last but definately not least of the top 6 is Dallas Schulz, who was the only car in the top 6 more than 10 years old, and the VN spun em all the way to a very impressive 314 horsepower.
Darren Dancey was on top of the V6's on the day, with his Raptor supercharged VS.  He was good enough to make a very impressive 278.
Mel and Shay from Promo Angels were out in full force to support Street Cruising and Brisbane Commodore Car Club, making the place look good among some people with pretty rough heads...........as depicted under the girls

The guys at All Dyno Tuning kept the cars flowing at a decent rate, and as you can see, safety was paramount with the cars well caged for the event.
Mike Tranter is seen here with his VX Calais inside the cage.  He was very happy with the 297 it made on the day.
Chris La spania's WH Statesman was also fairly impressive, making 287 with just a cat back and tune.  Both the Stato, and Mike's VX were tuned on the day by Dave Wilkinson (OLS108).  Nice to see Dave out there tuning for the boys to get the best numbers out of their rides.
All in all it was a good day.  There may not have been any world beating horsepower marks set, but it showed that this club has lots of tough streeters.  Thanks have to be made to Brad and Mick for all of their hard work keeping everything running smoothly, and thanks to all involved in running the barbie and drinks.  Congrats to the winner again.
