Andy's Blown BA

To get hold of this beautiful Mercury Silver BA Falcon ute, I had to get my lazy butt out of bed at 4 in the morning and make the long drive to Nanango - Approximately 2 hours north west of Brisbane. But I think you will agree that it was worth the drive, as this is one of the nicest utes I have seen.

Now with a 5.4 litre BOSS V8 on board, this thing is pretty tough as a standard unit, but add a Pro-Charger D-ISC to the mix, and you have a horsepower pumping monster with a ton of grunt. The charger is good for up to 925 hp, a max of 32 psi of boost, and the internal impeller spins at a whoppin 62,000 rpm max. No wonder the arse end of this thing steps out at a heartbeat.

The stock pistons have been thrown away in favour of some forgies, the 4 cams have been upgraded and the throttle body is now 75mm. The gases escape through a set of pacemaker extractors and 3.5 inch duals all the way to the back. The clutch got replaced by a race version and the box is a standard 5 speed Tremec manual. The diff is packin 4.11s with 31 spline axles. The whole package has been good enough to push the rollers to the tune of 527 RWHP.

The car has been dropped an inch and a half and sits nicely on those stunning fully imported Works 18 inch wheels. They are 18x9s on the rear and 18x 8s on the front, and are shod by 275/35/18s on the back and 245/40/18s on the front. The stopping is handled by DBA slotted rotors and standard calipers.

The interior is fairly well stock. Being such a new car I guess it wouldn't need much upgrading, but he threw on a Momo steering wheel and matching gear knob. The stereo is the standard one that came out with the car as well. After talking to Andy for an hour, he doesn't exactly come across as much of a doof doof man, so the stock stereo wasn't much of a surprise.

Andy comes across as a bloke who likes his cars tough, and growing up in a country town like Nanango, you have plenty of time on your hands to work on your beast. He would like to thank Steve at Redcliffe Dyno and Performance for all the hard work that went into the ute, and although it has had lots of hard work done, Andy may be looking at selling it soon, so if you are in the market for one hell of a tough Ford ute, this may be the direction to look. One thing though.... Make him deliver it, cause it is a fair old drive up there to Nanango.
